Hi, i m 29 and an ultrasound report says that i have small uterus and ovaries. it also says the cervix is bulky. My periods were irregular from 5 years and totally absent from 2 years, except with medicines. the doc prescribed progynova and meprate for 3 months. can i have kids with a small uterus?
According to your history there is a possibility of deficiency of reproductive hormones leading to irregular followed by the absence of menstrual cycles which might have led to to decrease in the size of the uterus and ovaries. To find out the possible cause of this, you may need to undergo investigation like levels of estrogen, progesterone, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, serum prolactin levels, thyroid profile, testosterone levels, etc. With this work up the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.
Bulky cervix can be seen due to causes like pelvic infections, cervical erosion, etc. Pap smear if needed cervical biopsy can help in finding the possible cause of the bulky cervix. Your doctor has given you estrogen supplementation in the form of progynova and progesterone supplementation in the form of Meprate, which can help in inducing and regularizing the menstrual cycles possibly. If that happens there is a possibility for conception. So, please follow your doctor's advice and proceed accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
