What Does Spotting, Pinkish Discharge During Periods Indicate Considering HPTs Being Negative?

Hello! I had a messed up period last month which lasted 10 days. It was spotting then nothing then spotting then nothing. Then 2 days after a light period then nothing. This month I was due my period on the 10th but only had what it seemed as spotting for an hour or so. Then yesterday a brown pinkish discharge happened and now today some spotting the full day. What does this mean? I have been very stressed but also having unprotected sex. I took two hpt after the 10 day 'period' and both were negative
