Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I ve notice some white clumpy or stringy bits in my stool. Inconsistant in shape/size. Not everyday but a few times a week. Sometimes a little longer pieces. Otherwise stool seems fine in shape/color. I m a tired, very overweight, stay at home mom with 3 small children. Candida or parasites? what should I do? (I am also currently breastfeeding 10 month old baby)
Hi, This could be undigested food or worms. In this case you should consult your Doctor and give your Stool sample for Routine and Microscopic examination. I usually advice my patients deworming medicines like Albendazole chewable tablets after dinner for three days. When you consult your Doctor you can discuss deworming with him as you are in lactation period at present.
Do observe your stools for the next few days to see whether it is similar or normalised. Sometimes live worms can also come out if there is a worm infestation in your intestine. They are like long string like things which can show some movement if left in water in the toilet.
