What Does Swelling Around The Eyes And Nose Indicate?

I am 77 yrs old , actually in fairly good health but arthritis, fibromyalgia & etc. Each morning when I get up my head is swollen ( eyes , nose expanded and ect. But after being up a short period, goes away until next am. This has been going on for years. Don t appear to be retaining fluid ( as far as other swollen parts.)

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Swelling in the face in general it is a symptom of kidney problem. In this case it would also be accompanied by high blood pressure and alternated kidney function tests. If the swelling is just slight, visible around the eyes only and doesn't get worse with the time, then I think it is nothing to worry about, especially if you have ruled out kidney problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
