Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had an CT scan of my abdomen and in the report it said I had several periportal and peripancreatic subcentimeter lymph nodes. What does that mean? At the time I had an emergency case of diverticulosis, and im worried that this finding my have been over looked, and am wondering if its somethimg that warrants further investigation.
Hi I read carefully your query and understood your concerns.
You are reporting that Ct scan report shows periportal and peripancreatic small lymph nodes associated with diverticulosis.
Diverticulosis is inflammation of diverticulum and is associated with inflammatory lymph nodes at periportal region.
If there is no other finding on CT scan, don't worry. After diverticulosis treatment lymph nodes will return in normal size. wishing you all the best Dr.Klerida
