just got the results of my Ct abdo. It reads as follows. There is a circumscribed ovoid enhancing lesion with a vascular supply in close contact wiht the neck of pancreas but it is separated by a thin line of fat and the configuration is consistent with an enlarged lymph node measuring 19x17mm. There is a slightly larger lymph node or 2 contigous nodes measuring together 67x30mm adjacent to porta hepatis and anterior spleen. No focal lesion of liver but some fatty infiltration, no abnormality of the pancreas or common bile duct. No other evidence of retroperitoneal lesion. normal kidneys, and adrenal glands. some minimal prominent mesenteric lymph nodes but probably within normal limits. comment: there is pre pancreatic and porta heptis lymphaenopathy. no pancreatic mass and no focal liver lesion. Question: What does all that mean in layman s terms and is it possible I have some form of cancer/lymphoma?
Hello. Thanks for putting your query in hcm. CT reports suggest that there are some abnormal enlarged lymph nodes. They can be sue to some infection, inflammation or malignancy that is cancer. To confirm the cause you require examination of tissue from that lymphnode which can be taken via ultrasound , ct scan etc. So visit to your doctor who will guide you for further management.
