What Does The Following Thyroid Profile Result Suggest?
I received the following results from my recent thyroid panel: TSH 1.870 Reference Range 0.400-4.000 uIU/mL Free T3, Serum 3.4 Reference Range 1.8-4.2 pg/mL Free T4, Serum 1.40 Reference Range 0.89-1.76 ng/dL TPO Antibodies Thyroglobulin Panel 15.2 Reference Range 0.5-55.0 ng/mL Thyroglobulin Antibody I have been experiencing symptoms consistent with hypothyroidism and there is a strong history of this disease in my family. I am interested in whether or not my lab results are consistent with hypothyroidism.
Your reports doesn't suggest hypothyroid status. However you may need clinical correlation. TSH is most important and it is normal in your case. Free T4 value is also normal and it exclude hypothyroid state.It is the biological form available for cellular use.
Your symptoms may be due to some other reasons.There are many conditions which mimic hypothyroid state. You may need complete routine investigations. You can consult physician for proper evaluation.
