What Does The Following Ultrasound Report Indicate?
I am postmenopausal and currently being treated for breast cancer. I went to ER and had an ultrasound performed. Results were endometrial stripe measures 0.6cm which is mildly thickened for a postmenopausal patient. Neither ovary is seen and is likely strophic. No fluid in the cul-d-sac. There is a samll 0.3cm cervical nabothian cyst. I am presently on Letrozole.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. An endometrial thickness of more than 4 mm is considered increased for a post menopausal woman. Moreover, if you are on letrozol, your endometrial thickness should not be increased. There is increased risk of endometrial hyperplasia or carcinoma in increased endometrial thickness. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist and get an endometrial biopsy done to confirm the diagnosis. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
