Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
had MRI of the right knee.. IMPRESSION: nondisplaced corner fracture of the medial tibial plateau with extensive marrow edema The central stabilizing ligaments are intact Tricompartmental degenerative changes are seen of the knee....also extensive marrow edema seen in the medial tibial plateau...3 arthroscopic surgeries have been performed on this knee...what are options now? Is surgery absolutely necessary, I am wearing a brace now, helps a little, will therapy help?
there is no need of any surgery now. You need to continue brace for four weeks and avoid putting heavy weight on affected side. After four weeks you need to start physiotherapy and start putting little weight on affected side after some time.
You need surgical intervention for early mobilization.. If you go for conservative treatment you have to wear that brace or cast for 2 months or more and you will have knee stiffness after non-operative treatment.
