What Does The Semen Analysis With Volume 1.5 Ml Indicate?
hi.. I have got the report of my husband for semen analysis. Could you please guide me if everything is fine .. The report is as follows : SEMEN ANALYSIS Colour Greyish white Volume 1.5 ml Reaction Alkaline Viscosity Viscid Liquefication within 30 min Microscopic Examination: Total count of sperms 38 millions/ml Motility : Actively motile 50 % Sluggish motile 20 % Non-motile 30 % Morphology of Sperm: Most of the sperms are dead and have giant head with tail defects.10 - 15 /hpf pus cells with 5 - 6 / hpf testicular cells seen.
hello user , in this report although the sperm counts(atleast 20 million is ok) , their motility and liquefication time is ok - however the matter of concern is "most sperms are dead" however morphology percentage is not given , at least 4 %sperms should be having normal morphology to be said to be normal- and presence of pus cells indicate towards some infection in sperm producing/storing structures and needs to be treated. you should consult him with any reproductive endocrinologist/ fertility specialist for evaluation and treatment. Take care
