Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
There are a couple of things you need to understand.
First, in a diabetic, most diabeticians keep the sugar levels higher than normal. Example I target a fatsing sugar of approximately 140 in my patients. This is because the patients may develop a more dangerous condition called
hypoglycemia.
So you need to know what sugars your doctor is targetting.
Second, we need to know what your post prandial blood sugar and
HbA1c are. even they help in deciding the level of treatment that we need to give you. So do let us know those too.
Personally I would have added another medicine "gliptin" to the current therapy. Or increased the dose of current tablets, or simply increased the dose. However, since I do not know the levels of
kidney function tests, I would suggest you meet your diabetician.
Besides, it is completely unwise to change the medicine on the basis of just one reading
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
