I m a 31 year old female who has had moderately heavy periods since the first onset when I was 12. My new GYN requested I have an abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound which showed a 3cm cyst on my left ovary, and a small, subtle hyperechoic area in the fundal endometrium measuring 8mmx3mmx8mm , which was read by the radiologist as a possible polyp. Six weeks following that I had a follow-up ultrasound in which the ovarian cyst had regressed, but the possible polyp was still persistent - rule out polyp, hyperplasia, or malignancy. Yesterday, I had an endometrial biopsy and am now awaiting results. I m SO worried! My GYN said she just needs to look into it further , which I completely understand and appreciate. Is it likely that if it s just a polyp that it would still be there 6 weeks later? She also said maybe this is just how you are! Meaning what? Maybe my uterus just has a small area of tissue that is more dense than the rest? I m not sure I have 100% faith in her, so any input or potentially putting me a little more at ease would be greatly appreciated!
