What Does The Ultrasound Report At 18 Weeks Indicate?

I had an ultrasound yesterday I was 18 weeks and six days. The doctor said the femur and heumors was measuring short, but the head, heart, liver, kidneys everything was fine. He has me worried six about down syndrom. he didn't recommend going to get tests done or seeing anyone else. just to come back in three weeks to check on the growth. General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your concern.
The major signs for down's syndrome in ultrasound scan are nuchal fold , thickness, shortness of hand/leg bones, major structural problems.
In your scan only the lengths of long bones is less, that too with history of both of you being short there is possibility of baby also will be short.
Please don't worry.Get your repeat scan done as per your doctor's advise.
In case of doubt, chromosomal analysis will be a confirmatory test to exclude Down's .

Thanks.
