What Does This 20 Week Scan Mean?

I ve had a 20 week scan which read. Cavum not seen for 2nd time. No venticulomegaly otherwise normal brain. No other anomalies, poor resolutions scan. I ve been referred to foetal medicine. My BMI is 48 and sonographer said foetal lie and stomach fat hindering clear resolution. What does it all mean?

Thanks for writing to us.
Isolated absence of septum cavum is not a cause of concern, sometimes absence of cavum may interfere development of foetal forebrain.
As you said there is no other abnormality found in foetal scan then please do not worry about it.
It is better to consult a foetal medicine specialist to rule out other possible foetal abnormalities which can be associated with it.
