What Does This USG Neurosonogram For A New Born Baby Mean?
My new born baby USG Neurosonsgram shows the below results.Bilateral mild periventricular flare noted. Bilateral mild ventricular prominence noted. Bilateral caudothalmic groove unremarkable. Can you help me understand this? My baby was born at 30 weeks (pre-term).
Hi Thanks for writing to healthcare magic. Mild periventricular flare and prominence happens in preterm babies. Only repeat followup scans will tell if the changes disppear. If the changes persist , MRI may be needed to look for the cause ( example hypoxia, hypoglycemia induced ) Wishing your child speedy recovery Regards Dr Arun
