HI my name is Dennis from alabang phillipines. I have been clinic yesterday for my x-ray.due to of my work requirments.and the result is SUSPICIOUS DENSITY IS SEEN IN THE LEFT UPPER LUNG. APICOLORDOTIC VIEW IS SUGGESTED. CAN U EXPLAIN,WHAT IS THIS RESULT?THANK U AND GODBLESS...

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Normal chest x ray is taken in PA (PosteroAnterior ) view. In this view apical part of lung is overlapped by clavicle and upper ribs ( 1st and 2nd ).
So any lesion in apical part can not be visualised properly, so accurate reporting is not possible.
So apicolordotic view is done to overcome this problem. In this view x ray is taken in such a way that apical areas are clearly visualised and so proper reporting of lesion can be possible.
So get done apicolordotic view.
