Hi,
This
ultrasound report is that right ovary is showing a
dermoid cyst in the right ovary. A dermoid cyst is a cyst which has sebaceous material like hair, fat, teeth or bone etc. along with the mature tissue of ovary. These are generally benign cysts, however rarely, these can be malignant.
90% dermoid cyst are present in the right ovary. These may not have any symptom. However, if the size increases, the size of ovary also increases. Though, there is no study to link the occurrence of
miscarriage with presence of dermoid cyst. Even with a remote possibility of this cyst to be related to miscarriage as well as minor possibility of turning into malignant, it is advised that this should be treated surgically in your case.
Most of the cases of such size of dermoid cysts can be treated by just removing the cystic portion of the ovary (
Cystectomy) and leaving the rest ovary intact. However, in a few difficult cases, where, it is not easy to remove the cystic portion only, entire ovary (Oophrectomy) can be removed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
