What Does This Ultrasound Report During Pregnancy Indicate?
Hello, I am 20.5 wks pregnant. My ultrasound Level II Scan shown with evidence of Bilateral Foetal Renal Pyelectasis with maternal right ovarian cysts (26821mm and 22813mm)...What does it mean? Does it create serious problem for baby and mother? I am 31yrs old. height 5 ft and weight 71kg . All the medical report is ok, except low hemoglobin (9).
thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com...
well fetal renal pyelectasis means fetal renal pelvis dilatation to some extent, or we can say there is some problem with the fetus's kidney and excretory tract, if its bilateral, its a bit of a problem....but most of the cases resolve on their own either during the course of pregnancy or afterwards during infancy...and the baby has a perfect childhood and eventually adulthood...
so you need not worry for now...your doctor might run another usg scan after about 10-12 weeks to see the scenario... and for the maternal right ovarian cysts, that will also be under observation and may be operated during delivery or afterwards depending on its extent and progress...
hope this was helpful... contact me for any further query....
regards
