17mm endometrium still having regular menstruation..I’m 51yrs. I’ve had 17mm since 2011 and up to 20mm. Presently 17mm my last ultrasound 3mo ago. Had repeat ultrasound 4days ago no significant change shows 17.3mm. Dr said he’s not concern because I’m still having regular cycle. GYNO aware of results and did not call me in his office. Regular pap done yearly return normal.Should I be concern? And request biopsy

Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

It is good to hear that you are getting regular menstrual cycle.
But the endometrium thickness is high for your age.
I will suggest you to get curettage done to get endometrial biopsy. This will be useful to know about the reason behind the thick endometrium.

If there is no pathological changes in the biopsy report then I will suggest you to seek prescription support from your treating doctor for Tablet Regestrone 5 mg twice a day for 5 days, from day 21 to 25 of the cycle for 6 months.
This will help to keep the endometrial lining thinned out.
You can get USG done every 6 months and keep watch on endometrial thickness.

Opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen.
Avoid refined sugars and deep fried foods and bakery products in the diet.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
