What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

I recently had an HSG. Hard to understand the results. It stated: opacification of fallopian tubes was delayed. Blunted appearance of bilateral fallopian tubes at the cornua with poor visualization of the interstitial. The fallopian tubes are small caliber and do not opacity very well, segmentalky visualized. Under continued positive pressure, the tubes eventually opacify with free intraperitoneal spill eventually visualized on the right, minimally on the left. My gyn said I should go for ivf based on this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your Fallopian tubes( tubes bringing ova from overt to uterus) are not intact and that might be the reason for infertility. You can go for laparoscopy for better visualization of tubes and minor defects are corrected by laparoscopic procedure. It is better to go for IVF as both tubes are defective and chance to conceive naturally is very low.

Hope I have answered your query.
