What Does This Urinalysis Test Result For UTI Indicate?

Hello doc. just got my urinalysis result. Color:yellow, transparency: slightly cloudy, specific gravity: 1.015, pH: 6.5, protein +4, sugar: negative, pus cells: loaded, RBC: 2-6, epithelial cells: moderate, mucus threads: few, amorphous urates/phosphates: moderate, bacteria: few, LEU: +2, NIT: negative, BIL:negative, BLOOD: +1, URO: negative, KET: negative... Does this mean that I have UTI? I feel pain after the last drop after urinating.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The results of your urine analysis show that you are having an infection.

I can suggest you do an uroculture with antibiogramme to determine the kind of infection you are suffering from and also which antibiotics work best.

If you don't do it I would treat you empirically with Bactrim or Ciprofloxacin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
