What Does This Uterus Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Kindly explain mam and sir: the uterus is retoverted with homogeneous echopattern. Uterus 3.13 x 3.80 x 4.12 cm Endometrium 0.57 cm the endometrium is hypoechoic compatible with proliferative phase of mestrual cyle. The subendometrial halo is intact. Cervix 2.71 x 2.50 x 1.52 cm abnormalities there are more than 12 follicles each more than less than 1 cm

Thanks for posting your query. The sonogram report shows endometrial hyperplasia and multiple follicles in the ovaries. If clinically there is irregular or absent menstruation, obesity, infertility etc., this picture is suggestive of PCOD or polycystic ovarian disease. The unopposed estrogen secretion has resulted in the hyperplasia of the endometrium. Ideally, a complete evaluation, hormone assay, blood counts, urinalysis, blood sugar levels, serum DHEAS levels are needed. An endometrial biopsy is taken and induction of a period is done to help plan further management. Hope this helps.
