What Does Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies At 202 Indicate?
Hi , I got my labs back and this sounds made up but this doctor actually passed away Saturday and so I don t have him to help me Interpret this: My thyroid peroxidase ab is at 202 where it says normal is 2-34. What could This indicate? I have been on levothyroxine for 14 years because I have hypothroidism.. But because I still felt tired and hard to loose weight and actually gain weight whenever I start exercising , my husband encouraged me to check out this really good doctor who checked 5 different types of thyroid tests.. Now that he passed away I need help interpretting and what to do next . T3 , T4 , reverse t3 and anitithyroglulin came back fine.
Hi! I have seen your reports. Antibody tests help to know the cause of the disease. In your case, the thyroid gland is functioning less and the cause of this is a particular type of immune disorder, in which your body makes antibodies against your thyroid gland. However, your other tests are normal. But, if I were your doctor, I'd first need to order TSH test. If that is normal, your dose is ok and we need to look for other causes. If that is high, I'd increase your dose of levothyroxine first. Hope I have answered your question.
