What Does Vaginal Bleeding And Low HCG During Early Pregnancy Indicate?
Hi I m 40 years old have 4 children and I just found out on 11/13 that I was pregnant. My lmp was 10/18 and was normal. With all 4 of my pregnancy s I had no symptoms but with this one my breast were really sore and hurt to the touch. Yesterday 11/21 I had a pinkish discharge and went to the er. They said my HCG was 76 way below normal and saw nothing on U/S not even a sac. Today I m bleeding bright red like I have my period and I believe I have miscarried. My question is do you think this was attributed to low progesterone? I never had sore breasts at all with my other pregnancies I also never had PMS as I have had the past couple of years.
Hi, I have gone through your question.Low hCG levels are suggestive of non viable pregnancy, as hCG is required for continuation of pregnancy. Low hCG can be due to inefficient secretion from the corpus luteum or due to any chromosomal disorder in the foetus. This leads to abortion. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist when you get pregnant next time, you can be given hCG injection if required. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
