Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Pleasie type your query here...I have a white spike on my tongue. It usually come after I bite my tongue to hard and draw blood but I don't remember if I bit my tongue this time. What is the white spike?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain white spike due to biting the tongue can be due to a protective phenomena of body in which there is overproduction of keratin to form a layer over the continuously injured tissue.. It seems to be Frictional Keratosis and it slowly disappear when the irritation is removed.. You should avoid tongue biting habit as it can also lead to a Precancerous lesion known as Leukoplakia.. If you are unable to stop the habit you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you to wear Mouth Guard to prevent tongue bite.. Keep stress minimal by doing meditation and breathing exercises..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
