My Doctor ordered a CT scan of my kidneys, but since my insurance would not pay for it I had to have an Ultrasound. They said there was some whitening (or white spots I guess) but I haven't been able to see my Doctor yet. so do you know what it could mean?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
White spots seen on ultrasound of kidneys are calcification in the kidney or stones in the kidney. You need not worry about those, they are mostly harmless. If they are multiple you need to get few tests like serum calcium, phosphorus and PTH. Take good amount of water.
Hope I have answered your query.
