my name is ankita.i am 25.i have low grade fever since 15 days.doc said its typhoid and give me Oratil 500mg tablet.but my fever is not going normal.mild headache and upper back pain i am also feeling. my widel report is sal typhi o is positive 1:160 sal typhi h is positive 1:80 sal para typhi ah abd bh is negative.i want to know that is it typhoid or if yes then of what stage.and doc give me oratil 500mg tablet.is it right treatment or not.i am getting scared day by day now.please help. thanks

Hello,
Although oratil 500 mg is definitely a right trratment for typhoid but the diagnosis of typhoid is not completely sure because a single WIDAL TEST reading is not confirmatory of TYPHOID.
Blood culture and typhidot tests are tests to be performed for the diagnosis of typhoid.Just wait and watch and omelette the course of antibiotics as suggested by the doctor.
In case fever doesn't become all right in 7-10 days,then you must get yourself investigate again to find the exact cause.
