What Foods Are Good To Eat After Colon Surgery?

What diet is best after diverticulitis surgery rmoving 5 inches of colon? Still have clostomy. It has been 6 weeks and wonder when my brother can really eat again as he has lost 26 lbs. He was also septic and had to return to the hospital 2 weeks after surgery bc the infection had returned. He was in the hospital another week and was sent home with 2 antibiotics that seemed to cause the weight loss and an overall weakened condition. How long will food upset his stomach now and after the colostomy is reversed? That should happen in several weeks. He was fortunately in great shape at 62 and hadn'nt had an antibiotic for 40 years! Thank you!
