What Happens In A Heart Catheterization Procedure?

hi, I am having a heart cath done Tuesday, to say the least im scared... they found a few spots on my heart in 40 yrs old with a strong family history of heart problems. what is the heart cath goiong to do?, my father suffers from silent heart attacks and now has a defib in place, im just really scared

Hi,

If there is significant narrowing or blockage in your arteries, during cath they will put a stent and fix the problem. You shouldn't worry. If the disease is diagnosed early, which is your case, interventions and treatment done properly, prognosis is much more better.
