Hi doctor im trying to get pregnant my doctor gave me FERTAB- 50 to take second day of period, and to go back to her day 12 of my period and she will give me a shot, what is this injection for? And she said that i have to stop sex till day 12 also, just want to know the reason behind it, ?? Thanx
You are on Fertab which cause increase in FSH and LH. It cause ovarian follicle maturation, followed by the preovulatory LH surge, ovulation, and the subsequent development of the corpus luteum.
Doctor gave you shot at the 12th day of period. Most commonly it was HCG shot. It will be given after confirming ovarian follicle size to induce ovulation (to release egg form the mature follicle). It's effect will seen after 24 hours only. So you have to do sex after giving HCG shot to become pregnant. So do sex for 4 to 5 days after HCG shot.
