Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM! First, I would like to express my condolences for this great loss. Regarding your questions, I would like to explain that heart attack is a real drama, a period full of chest pain, shortness of breathing, and whole body discomfort. Prognosis of a heart attack patient depends on many factors, the amount of myocardial mass affected, arrhythmia complications, co-morbidities, etc.
This is a difficult situation for the patient, who is aware of what is happening to him. Sometimes, the patients doesn't have time to realize, what's going on, when a life-threatening arrhythmia suddenly happens and leads to a fatal life loss.
Hope to have been helpful. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
