Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I just have a question about heart-beat interruptions. I have an 80-year old mom who recently began to complain about heart palpitations (skipped beats). We took her to the doctor and mad an ECG as well as an Echo measurement. Then she was advised to take a medicine called Betloc ZOK 50 mg (Metopolol). She has been taking it for almost three weeks now, and although her blood pressure got better (dropped) she still has these interruptions. What should we do?
Betaloc Tablet is used to reduce high blood pressure and relieve chest pain caused due to reduced blood flow to the heart. It is also used for treating other complications associated with the heart and blood vessels.
I can not tell what else to do without seeing the ECG, medical history and other medical information. Please contact your doctor for other details.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Enton Dore, General & Family Physician
