I got a minor soar throat for many months now that dont go away with and i saw today a small black point above my right tonsil, dont know if its a blood vessel or something else, i got yet another apointment with my doctor, he said is reflux and gave me omeprazol. Any other opinions?
Persistent sore throat is likely to be due to acid re-flux rather than infection and i think your doctor is right in prescribing you omeprazole, and you should continue it. The black point maybe due to food stuck in the normal pits of your tonsil and can be easily removed by gargling with dilute hydrogen peroxide mouth wash. Please dont worry. Take care
