I have been having spasms through out the day and to a lesser degree at night. I have seen every kind of specialist. The last g.i. doctor said damaged nerves,I also had a lot of relief for a month from an ent using botox. now I am getting occasional reflux This nightmare started in 1998, when a g.astronoligest dialiated my esophagus , because I had a swolling function of on 10 %. So now I can swallow a hand ful of pills. not worth te trade!

Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms you have reported. Reflux disease is managed with drugs like omeprazole, ranitidine , etc. Also, there are life style modifications like avoiding fatty, greasy meals, not eating late at night, avoid lying flat soon after meals, reduce coffee, chocolates, etc. If these measures should fail, there are surgical procedures than can correct reflux disease.

If the problem is rather spasms related, then you may actually benefit from drugs like calcium channel blockers.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to for more information or clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health.
