What Is Architectural Distortion In The Right Breast?
Hi, I am a 44 year old that has just went for my first mammogram. I was called back for more testing. After it was finished the doctor told me he would like for me to have a MRI due to architectural distortion in the right breast. What is this and how common is it??

The normal architecture of breast consists of milk secreting glands , milk ducts-which aggregate under areola( black/pink pat of breast )& open on nipple.This is supported by by fat tissue.
Disturbance of this structure can be from simple abscess of breast/injury to breast, atrophy of milk glands due to age or due to tumors of breast( fibroadenoma breast/ malignant breast)
Disturbance is not common, it indicates abnormality in breast tissue which can be detected clearly by MRI
