What Is Black Bruises On Wrist With Veins?

Hello, my 57 year old grandma has a big black bruise type thing on her wrist where all those viens are, and her arm has been fealing hevy. Its on her right arm. She has not hit it. It doesn t hurt. She is very overweight, ans has a stroke 2 years ago, and has high blood pressures. Thanks. -Laryssa

Recurrent painless bruises over the arms and legs in the old age can be senile purpura....It result due to the loss of collagen which results in weakened support to the vessels...This is quite a common condition in aged persons...Get done her BT/CT and platelets counts checked...if these are normal then nothing is to be done just increase her vitamin C intake that would help replenish collagen...thanks
