What Is Causing My Recurring Headaches?

I have had increasingly uncomfortable headaches in the last 5 or 6 days, especially at night. My heart seems fine; I have had a CT scan of my head, and a few arteries look a bit narrowed, but not seriously. I do not yet have the appointment, but my GP is requesting one from a neurologist. Any suggestions you may have would be much appreciated. Thanks. Eleanor O Neill

Hello Elanor O Neil,
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist and I'd like to help you. You,apparently are having recurrent episodes of headache, which is recent in onset and intermittent(as you say it is more at night). It may be any of the primary headache like Tension type headache(TTH),Migraine or cluster headache. Each of them have some hallmark features like migraine is unilateral, throbbing, accompanied with nausea or visual aura. TTH is diffuse and ease off, on tight pressure over scalp.Cluster headache comes in clusters. It may be a secondary headache also which seems unlikely as your CT head is normal(so no secondary intracranial cause).CT does not give any true picture about arteries.Without a detailed history,it is hard to make a probable diagnosis. You can ask your question again with some history details. If you liked the reply, please write a review at my profile link-

Also, you can ask a query directly to me ,with the above mentioned history details.I hope it helps.
