What Is Causing Pain From My Ankle To Knee?

I have pain in my leg mostly from my ankle up to my Knee. It hurts mostly when I m lying down sleeping or sitting in a chair for to long. I do have a knot on the back of my ankle above my heal. About 6 years ago I did turn my foot walking on an uneven surface. My leg was numb up to my knee and it turned black and blue quickly but I was able to still walk with a bit of a limp so I finished my delivery route. I thought it was just a sprain and would be fine after awhile. Could this be what s causing my pain after all this time?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I think you are having two problems.
1.Disc herniation with nerve compression in the spine which is causing pain along with tingling and numbness. It can be confirmed with the help of MRI of the spine. If there is disc herniation than you might need physiotherapy with Pregabalin and Methylcobal tablet.
Knot which you are talking about is cause by retrocalcaneal bursitis. In this condition there is pain at back of heel. You need to get hot water fomentation and shoe modification. Use of steroid injections and calf muscle stretching exercises is also beneficial.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
