What Is Difference Between "calcitriol With Calcium" And "alfacalcidol With Calcium Carbonate"?

Dear Doctor, I would like to know what is the basic difference between the pills composition of "Calcitriol with Calcium" and "Alfacalcidol with Calcium Carbonate"? 2 different Doctor prescribes to take this pills for life long. One is an Ortho and the other is a Gynae. Is there any more suggestions you can help mw with. I suffer from joint pains, heat flush, loosing temper. dont get sleep at night, no interest in food. I have undergone Hysterectomy, suffering from osteoporosis and thyroid. Female, Age=50 Ht=160cm Wt=54kg Bp=112/82 Name --Dipti Chandra.

Alfacalcidol is a weaker analogue of Vit D than calcitriol. Based on your level of Vit D appropriate compounds would have been prescribed. Since you are symptomatic I suggest you to use calcitriol.
