Hi.. Hernia is medically defined as abnormal protrussion of contents through a cavity in which it is normally contained.. Most often the protrussion occurs throught the abdominal wall which results in a swelling.. These hernia usually cause asymptomatic hernia and diagnosed incidentally by examination. The symptoms, if occurs depends on the contents of the hernia.. The next common symptom is pain.. Finally the rest of the symptoms such as  vomiting, fever, constipation and so on will occur if there are complications..
