EKG's show the condition of the hearts electrical activity which in turn tells us how the heart muscle is working. Hypertension or High blood pressure is can not be determined by the EKG. The Doctor was checked the electrical activity and then listened for any murmur's or bruits, (sounds a bad valve makes) before giving the medication. Basically he was doing it the right way !!!
