Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, could you please advise me why do I have to take Norethisterone 5mg tablet. I have been prescribed to take 2 tablet 2 times a day after food for two weeks. I am 50 years old and just had a surgery to remove my cervical growth which the results is chronically inflammed endocervical polyp with extensive squamous metaplasia. There is no evidence of dysplasia or neoplasia. Thank you very much for your help.
In some cases, Norethisterone may also be prescribed to delay menstruation, for example, if a woman is planning to go on holiday or if she is participating in a sporting event. Additionally, it may be used to help manage symptoms of menopause.
However, it is important to note that Norethisterone should only be taken under the guidance of a healthcare professional and should not be used as a long-term solution without proper medical supervision.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shah Hussain, General & Family Physician
