What Is Placenta Anterior Low Lying Reaching The Os Liquor Adequate For Period Of Gestation Mean?
I am 28 years old, height 4.1, working lady 14 weeks of pregnancy, report in ultra sound No gross anomoties in present scan. Placenta anterior, low lying reaching the os liquor adequate for period of gestation. Is there any any complication or need to worry?????
Please do not worry at all. The placenta is the part that supplies the nutrients to the baby from the mother. It is commonly attached to the upper part of the uterus as the lower part will form the birth canal from where the baby has to come down during delivery. However if the placenta is lying in the lower part it blocks the descent of the baby. It also causes bleeding during pregnancy and may cause bleeding during labor. However many times during early pregnancy the placenta seems to be attached to the lower part of the uterus in early pregnancy but after 28 weeks it appears to move up and does not cause any problems. This happens as the lower part of the uterus grows more than the upper and placenta appears to move up.
Liquor is the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby and adequate means that it is ok and no problems with that too.
So as of now, please do not worry. Just take care of not to do any heavy work and take adequate rest. As long as there is no bleeding then nothing will happen.
