What Is Reason For Clicking Sound At The Thigh Joint?

Joint makes a clicking sound Hi my name is josh im 26. Since I can remember my left and sometimes inner upper thigh makes a weird clicking/snapping sound. This happens when Im in bed when I move a certain way. This happens when im standing up and simply move my left leg in.front of my right one akmost everytime I do this movement it makes that sound. I dont believe it is my hip, but maybe it is. It just sounds like its not coming from my hip area. It sounds like its coming from my left thigh. What is this?

Hi,

This is likely your psoas muscle. Your psoas muscle attaches to your upper inner thigh and you use it when you swing your hip forward.

Sometimes the tendon of the psoas muscle can snap over the hip joint, and it is referred to as a "snapping hip".

If it is painful you can do a psoas stretch (essentially a lunge) twice a day. Otherwise there is not much to worry about.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
