Hi,I am Dr. Robert Galamaga (Hematologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm 9 and 1/2 weeks pregnant, and my doctor called me to say that I tested positive for a kell antigen. She is referring me to a specialist, and also told me a have a titre (sp?) of 1:4. What does this mean? Can I have a healthy baby? I had 2 blood transfusions, which she said may have been the culprit. My husband and I are scared.
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Kell is the antigen present on rbc. Kell is the system of blood grouping antigen just like ABO and Rh system. At time of transfusion it gives reaction with antibodies. So you should match your kell antigen also at time of future blood transfusion. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then you can contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
