Hi,I am Dr. Robert Galamaga (Hematologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In late 2009 I was detected HBV Positive. Doctors give me entecavir. I took entecavier for 15 months. Then my HBV DNA test became negative. Doctor advised me to stop entecavir. Againg I tested my HBV DNA in October 2011 and the result is Positive. Doctor now adviced me to go with Interferon. What should I do now. I do not have enough economic strength to afford interferon. Is there any alternative? I am 48 years old male. My health is good and strong. I have no weakness. My appetite is very good.
Hi, dear. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have hepatitis b. Your HBV DNA is positive. If ypu can not take interferon then you should take entecavir or similar group of drug. It os prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
