How do I deal with someone who I believe has Dementia? My husband had surgery in Feb. and was under for 7 hours and has not been the same since. He had surg. for blood clots in his right leg. He stays up for days cannot sleep he says, then has mood changes anger, never stops talking a lot more, he was never like that before his surg. his primary care Doctor also sees a change. how can I help him?

Dementia start with cognitive difficulties and memory issues. Patient starts forgetting things , names and places. In this case probably he is irritable because of his prolonged illness. Give him time and space . Taking him on holiday might help .let him see his friends and family at regular basis.
