Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I was stung by a bee in my index finger 4 weeks ago. I had what was termed a large local reaction. This initial swelling lasted three days. However after five days the finger was hot itchy and swollen again. I’ve had a course of antibiotics and been told by a GP that it’s a post traumatic response to the sting. It appeared to be reducing in swelling but got worse again in the night. Is there anything I can do?
First of all, I would suggest you get your blood investigations: RBS (blood sugar), CBC done. If still there is pain, swelling & pus point visible & on touching if it's warmth then it is a sign of infection. Taking Antibiotics & Analgesics + Antihistamines + B-Complex along with I&D (Incision & Drainage) will be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ajaygupta009, General & Family Physician
