Hello Doctor, I am writing from hyderabad for my friend who is suffering from corneal decompose and i have submitted his case history below please do see and give us your expertise. History of the Case: ï? Year 1992: March : Left Eye Corneal Wound ï? Cornea was repaired June : Implant of IOL. ï? Year 2005: May : Met with a Road Accident. June : Giant Retinal Tear 18/June : Left Eye Vitrectomy + PFC + Endo Laser + Silicon Oil + IOL Removal Surgery. 29/Oct : SOR & Gas was kept. ï? Cornea started to decompose after these major surgeries and I have consulted few Ophthalmologists, they have also recommended not to go for a corneal transplant which does not benefit much in my case. ï?¨ Presently I need advise what can be best to restore vision or see that my cornea is not further affected.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having corneal decompensation following injury and corneal tear repair. As per your examination reports, if the retinal condition is normal then you can go for corneal transplantation as per the advice of your doctor. Corneal transplantation will help to restore vision in your case.
Hope this is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you With regards
