Gm doctor My self ruchi. I m 26 yr old. Last 5 mnth me n my hubby trying for baby but i cant conceive. My gynecologist say me n my hubby physicalky fine. But i have intramural fibroid. Dr. Say may be this fibroid occure some problems. Surgery is last option or anything else i mean medicine.
Hello Ms. Ruchi, If all other investigations like tubal patency tests, ovulation and hormone status, male factor are reported normal, you should think of the fibroid being the cause. Normally, very small fibroids do not affect conception. It is only when they are larger that problems arise. This also depends on their location. Medical management can be tried with hormones and medical embolization of the internal iliac arteries to cut the blood supply to the fibroid thereby shrinking it. Myomectomy may need to done to remove a single large intramural fibroid affecting implantation of the fertilized ovum. Hope this helps.
